What this site is, and isn't

Cat Insurance publishes a cost calculator and a set of guides about insuring a cat, built from public premium data and general industry patterns. None of it is personalized insurance, veterinary, or financial advice, and no output from the calculator is a binding quote. Only a licensed insurer, running its own underwriting, can tell you what covering your specific cat will actually cost.

Accuracy of what you see

We work to keep the numbers current and revisit pages as pricing shifts, but insurance markets move, and a range that was accurate last month can be stale today. Check the "Updated" date on any guide, and get a live quote before making a decision based on anything published here.

Using the calculator and our content

You're welcome to use the calculator for your own planning and to link to or quote our guides with attribution. Reproducing whole articles elsewhere, scraping the site at scale, or presenting our figures as your own aren't permitted.

Accounts and data

There's no login here and nothing to sign up for. The calculator keeps your entries in your browser only; the contact form is the only place you hand us anything, and only what you choose to type there. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what that involves.

Quote links and referral fees

Some outbound links on this site route through insurer partners and can earn us a referral fee if you request a quote through them, at no extra cost to you. That arrangement never changes which range the calculator shows you; our figures are built independently of which partners we happen to work with.

No warranty, limited liability

Everything here is provided as is, without any guarantee that it's complete, current, or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, Cat Insurance and the people behind it aren't liable for decisions made based on this site, including a policy purchase, a coverage gap, or a bill that didn't match our estimate.
